Temple of Kraden News: Welcome to the Temple of Kraden! ------ All worshipers may enter the Most Holy Place in single file, reflecting on the bountiful blessing Kraden hath provided unto him or herself since their last visit. Head coverings are not necessary, as true penitence and humility are found within. The Priests and Priestesses of Kraden endeavor to remind all that fresh orange juice is heavily preferred; only whores use frozen.
Greetings, heathen. Perhaps some fortuitous blessing of Kraden's grace hath led you to our humble Temple, or perhaps you are simply curious about this strange and wonderful cult. Should you be willing - and dare to hope - to achieve enlightenment, the door opens before you. Lo! Leave your old life behind! For once you step through, you become something more than just yourself.

You become a Kradenette.

Are you willing to make the rapturous plunge? Do you have what it takes?

Ikariam's essentially a real-time strategy game wherein you try to take over the world by whatever means you see fit. Ignore, if you will, the fact that the developers would rather create new servers than fix key bugs in the game, the occasionally garbled English (not the devs' first language, that), and the bunch of idiots who either can't be arsed to rename their city from "Polis," or worse, rename it "Sparta," because really, that's all that's wrong with the game. It's fun, free, and (for those of us not on Windows) browser-based.

For the record, I'm at Elmitia[48:39] > Vespuccia on the Iota server and Yikios[85:76] > Vespuccia on the Zeta server.

I might give it a squiz, although I'm knee deep in browser based games already...

Kappa server, Phimios island (51:35), in the town of Illyria. This game makes me want to dig up my copy of Civ II and load it onto my laptop. Fun stuffs.

The only servers it offers me are Alpha and Beta. Am I a COMPLETE n00b?

This is really fun and addicting. =O I think I'm doing the best out of all the cities on my island, so far. But I'm lacking in military stuff, I think. Once I can produce Phalanxes and Swordsmen, I'll boost that up and maybe go plundering.

Heh, go figure, we're all on different servers.

At any rate, I'm slowly but surely taking over the world. I got my first colony on Iota, named Columbia. It then proceeded to be raided seven times in less than 12 hours. Not that I'm really that fussed; that guy got banned for raiding the same target too often. :)

I'm right now trying out this game, and it has all the rights to be played for a good while. By the moment, the fact of building or upgrading once a time is a bit frustrating but gives a chance to plan, enter, build, delegate, logout, rinse and repeat.

[Just in case: Anyone can visit my town (and maybe pre-order a Sulphur Trade service) in Zockyios[57:71] Island, Kappa Server. It's the little town with the longest name]

Sure, I'll trade you crystal glass for sulfur eventually. =)

Bah, I have sulfur already.

Kappa server, Kemeutia island [28:43], Elidion

Annoyingly, not only have some of the other towns on my island not changed their name from the default Polis, three of them seem to have just left their town there.

Besides me, there are only two towns on Phimios that aren't inactive. On the bright side, I can maybe plunder them for wood, since I'll have to upgrade the resource mines all by myself, basically.

Well... I've been a little bit more lucky with my neighbours back in Zockyios, there's only two (officially) inactive towns, one I have to doubt and a colony. The other villages are growing at a good rate and making me spend the few marble I have in walls .

Yeah, we're going to have to find someone we know on an island with marble.

Even if there were someone, we'd still need to have enough trade skills...

I'm having bad luck finding marble, too. >_< But people are snapping up the crystal glass I have for sale. And now there's only one other city that's active besides me. o_0 I hate having to use all my wood to expand the resource mills myself, but at least no one's attacking me, and I can maybe pillage some good stuff from the inactive towns. I should try.

200 pieces of marble for 4 gold apiece. Talk about a coup. =D
