The new dragon quest game makes me laught. It gives an old dragon warrior feel to a long time fan. I do think the gameplay is a bit linear, and storyline is very similar but I can't help but smile ever time I go up a level or up stairs or die and hear the classic sounds of my youth. |

Which game? DQ:Swords? You should buy DQ4 on Virtual Console, if it exists. I don't care what other people say about DQ3, because DQ4 is the best. |

I've only played the one for PS2. I think it's DQ7, but its possibly 8. Anyway, I enjoyed it. I'd play a sequal, if it came out. |

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King was for PS2, so that's probably what you are thinking of. I love Dragon Quest, DQ3 was great when I was a kid. |

Dragon Quests 3 through 6 have rocked my socks off. 7 was okay but dragged on a little too much without much progress, and the difficulty curves were far too high. 8... I don't know, the feeling of progress just wasn't there. Took too long to do anything and I didn't feel like I'd done anything after doing it, so I never finished it. Haven't tried DQ: Swords. Is that officially DQ9, though? Because I was under the impression that they were different games. |

They're different. DQ9 is coming to DS sometime in the future, and I believe it will have wi-fi capability (and not just crappy wi-fi stuff like in FFIII) |

Delicious. I hope it plays more like 6 and 7 than 8... I preferred having the full job/class system rather than having the characters shoe-horned into roles, even if you get a little customisation in what abilities they learn. Only a little though, since it takes levels and levels to get *anything*, and then nothing is useful... *ahem* Here's hoping. |

Yeah, that's the one I played. The DBZ-esque-ness of it was just awesome, and I liked the story and characters. Not my favourite game, but it definitely got me interested in the series as a whole. |

On the matter of Dragon Quest... I discovered a new Dragon Quest game on DS, which I hadn't heard about or seen before. I didn't think it would be Dragon Quest 9, but I had a look, and it turns out to be a remake of Dragon Quest 4. Which I really quite enjoyed. I ended up picking it up to play through once I start/am done with TWEWY. |

I'd heard that they were remaking it for DS, but it only came out here a few days ago. Of the ones I've played, namely, the first four, That one is my favorite. Healie FTW! |

I enjoy DQ3 because of the customisable party aspect, but that's still somewhat limited so it does get old fast. DQ4 is just a good solid RPG, though, and one of the first. I had no qualms whatsoever in buying it to play through a second time - now it can go everywhere with me. |

Yeah, Healie really is heaps of win. It's a shame he doesn't stick around in the end, but then, pretty much every other character by that point gets a healing companion, and then when the party meets up you have heaps to choose from... so no big deal. Healie is still win for when you get him. |
