Sweltering.

---

Having finished case 3-2, I'd have to say how much I appreciate Court Record's Case Descriptions in the Villain's POV, because this was really complex. But it was definitely an especially clever case setup even by PW standards, both in the structure if the case (I was duped into thinking the case had actually resolved itself halfway through) and what the culprit's real backup plot was, and how the Double Jeopardy clause played into it.

Halfway through case 2-3 right now... Jean Armstrong: I'm positive he's been the subject of relentless Manfred von Karma screams from other fans. 0_o 0_o 0_o 0_o 0_o

Double Jeopardy makes no sense with the innocent part. You can't get a retrial if you're found innocent? Well, that's alright for the client then...

But what if a murderer gets the innocent verdict somehow, later feels guilty and comes back saying he killed someone after all? Are they going to tell him he can't have another trial because of Double Jeopardy then tell him to just go home?

They wouldn't need to have a trial. He wouldn't be protesting his innocence, so there wouldn't be any pint.

However, if new evidence were to arise (due to new tech etc.), that would cause problems.

Seemed to make sense enough to me...

Anyway, having just finished case 3-3, I thought it had a really clever ending in the courtroom. That was NOT what I had in mind when I guessed the correct "incorrect" answer to the final question about what is inside that green bottle. And the Villain's POV for this case provided by Court Records was one of the best yet.

Apparently case 3-4 is short just like the first one, so I'll have that done by the end of tonight too. Ah, the idea that there's going to be some supremely epic conclusion to all this stuff in case 3-5 is so inspiring right now...

After finishing case 3-5:

..Wonderful, it all was. Feels interesting to see an actual wrap-up-style case for all the courtroom drama I've been looking at these past months. When I had first played through the Golden Sun games back to back in summer 04, for an entire half-year afterward I went to bed every night eagerly thinking about that game's characters. (Did I just admit that?)

In more or less the same vein, I think I'm going to be thinking of Dahlia Hawthorne for a while now. Now THERE'S a character I genuinely feel pity for. That's partially because I was NOT expecting such freakish supernatural imagery as part of the finale of a game where you play as a lawyer in court. (Hmmm... Maybe that's why Draco refuses to play this series; she doesn't like exorcism in her courtroom dramas, as well as dead people calling each other spinsters. :P)

I also loved how the overall case revealed all sorts of family ties and true identities, and how it establishes the originally independent case 2-2 character Morgan Fey as one of the series' overall antagonists. And I thought it was refreshing how you play as Edgeworth for the first half of the case.

Case 3-5 was good. I just doubt it's really possible to swing a corpse across a 20 meter ravine (and taking into account rigor wouldn't have set in yet), but who's really going to test it?

Sorry but those are a bit of spoilers, see. I will change it to white font for you.

And yet people bash 2-3 for the same reason. They say it is soooo luck based but look what happens in 3-5 with the swinging of the corpse. Maybe people just don't like the circus. (And with good reason, they are mean to the animals there)

Edit: And in other news. We got a new subforum now so post all you want without angering the outlaws

THAT's what I like to call responsible moderation. :) (Though normally it's an instinct for me to white-space anything remotely spoilerish like that within my posts, but there's been a lot of previous posts in this thread that have had the exact same thing but were left untouched, so I got a tad complacent.)

And yeah, having communal subforums like that is a great idea. Why couldn't this have been established a year back? :P

So, I just bought this game. The first one, I think, for DS. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I don't own a DS. I just couldn't help myself, and I have such an urge to play it; it looks like such a great game.

I bought it for a friend, for their birthday, so everyone doesn't think I just threw my money in a weird direction.

But yeah, this person's a casual gamer, picking up their DS occasionally to play for sporadic periods of free time. Mehopes that one can get into this game with that style of playing... haha! If not... oh, well... "Happy Birthday!" I'll say.

If it doesn't say "Justice for All" or "Trials and Tribulations" then you know you got the first one. It just says Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

Should this topic be moved to its communal subforum? The Court Room?

Great! Now, the topic's title should probably be "General Topic" or something. :)

And you want me to do that too, don't you? >_>

I personally think it's fine as it is, but if you think it desperately needs a change...

Well, I don't really care which way it is (and maybe people recognize this topic by its current name easy enough), just saying it seems a tad mundane for a topic title like this to be in the subforum STRICTLY about Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney games.
