I'm a-playin'... ![]() Thus far, 2-4 has an interesting setup: The replacement of Edgeworth in place of Franziska because she got a bullet... in her right shoulder, ironically... makes the first trial session here feel more peaceful than the past two cases. Now I don't have to be distracted by the constant whippings! And I notice all the big cases in JFA have their crimes occur in while Phoenix is there in the general area, instead of the last game when crimes would occur while Phoenix is elsewhere and he is summoned to be the defense lawyer of a client he hasn't met yet. Does this pattern continue in TAT? |

In TAT, he has to defend one defendant again from another one of the games, but we'll let you find out who that is on your own. |

Guess what folks! For the fist time, I meet two LIVE people that play PW! In my college's geek... I mean science fiction club. Showed one of them my pix of all the Godots I drew plus Maya and Pearl as well. The guy who was playing in the area was by the Blue Badger Video part in 1-5. Kewl huh? |

Having finished case 2-4 (that last part where you had to choose any person and then choose any of your evidence to present to them in order to get the good ending was HARD; my best guess was to try showing the video to Franziska, and when that failed I had to refer to a FAQ. Apparently I came close to the proper idea, with the tape and all), I got PLENTY of thoughts: This was a case whos trials were borderline "painful" to play, which is probably what the developers were aiming for. The idea of trying to drag out a trial as long as you can and prevent your genuinely guilty client from actually getting the guilty verdict for the sake of stuff happening outside the courtroom certainly broke the established case-setting tradition that all the previous cases laid out, which in spite of feeling a little draggy in places was definitely refreshing like a spring breeze. Speaking of which... Matt Engarde. He suddenly became one of the most interesting characters I've seen yet, especially since he's supposed to be 21 like me and I could probably cosplay as him after a little hair-arranging job on my part. In spite of his age and appearance and career, HE'S A FREAKING SOCIOPATH!!! His selfish misdeeds, his crazed evil look with the scars later on, and even that "evil music" he had after he was long since established as an innocent dude you could like were all pretty cool. I probably won't ever master the trick of making a wine glass filled with chocolate milk appear in my wrist-phone-wrapped left hand out of thin air, though... which is a shame. D= And I liked that Franziska epilogue a lot, too. FINALLY some humanity. =D |

Eh, course I saw the bad ending before the good one. The bad ending was the result of my initial guess at that last hard part (trying to show the videotape to the wrong person, Franziska). =D Good thing both the save system and FAQs exist because I then went right back to that part and input the right answer to see the good ending. And not to worry, that was the only time in JFA I had to refer to an outside hint source.

I knew right away what to do for the good ending because I paid attention to Matt's speech during the psych locks. You know when he said assassins are not above blackmail. And de Killer always talks about trust when it comes to his clients. In this game, you actually have to pay attention to what the characters say. |

Thing is, at that final point I had by no means "forgotten" the Detention Center dialogue you're referring to, since that scene was so interesting I could only pay absolute attention to it and memorize it with relative clarity. (I'm very good at memorizing things, FYI) And had I bothered to spend more than three minutes on that final question I probably would have realized at some point that the DC dialogue was relevant to this particular final question. ^_^; I also think I would have figured the right answer right away had that transciever with De Killer on the other end of the line been still present and at attention in the courtroom; it hadn't occured to me that the court and Judge, who was really stressed with Phoenix at that point, could simply bring the transciever back into the room for the third time so De Killer to take a listen to your evidence (and it's not like he would have been able to "see" the tape footage of him doing the assassination. And how would anyone be supposed to assume that De Killer, who would have built absolute trust between himself and Matt like I remember him saying, would easily buy your tape story if he's listening through an audio transceiver?), and that De Killer wouldn't be annoyed enough by your lack of a verdict that he would decide to put Maya to "sleep" right there. Basically, all those things prevented me from getting the right answer right away and assuming it would've been better to show the tape to Franziska, who "hadn't had time to see it yet". For you to gamble against all that and find the answer "right away" is seriously impressive in my books. O_O |

So, ordered PW3 yet? Trailers of third game when you get to a place with decent internet connection. Just don't read the comments because sometimes idiots come and post spoilers in them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRoH3Hq9Rsw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SY_4zsfHlgY |

Well, Fire Emblem for Wii just came to my house today, so it'd be another big while before I experience the third act of the Phoenix Wright saga. But anyway, throughout this semester I get three days a week where I can look and do things at the Broadband computers at the lab, so I'll get to look at those trailers on Monday. Thanks for posting those, of course.

Okay, so I saw the trailers... Pretty cool. And up until then I thought it counted as spoilers to even know what the characters of the upcoming cases look like, but the way these trailers shove their faces into yours must mean that's not part of the taboo. So now I'll expect to see guys with long noses, black and white masks, and for some bizarre reason Phoenix wearing a freaking pink shirt with a heart on it. (That part was unusual to put it mildly...) The point, then, is to find out what happens with all these guys come game day. |

Fan-created audio versions of PW cases? Interesting... Though I'd rather imagine for myself the voices of the characters in the games whenever they speak through text. Other fans' voices for the characters are most likely different from how I might imagine them... And yeah, that "Luke Atmey" avy was one of the characters that were previewed. |

I hope there will be a future case where an animal is your "client." You know something like a pit bull and its owner is falsely accused of having the victim mauled to death. You need to defend the owner and animal. Would be an interesting one. (at the end it is another owner's dog and that owner doctored the entire scene) When I first heard about the circus case I speculated that it would be a circus animal mauling the victim. I was partially right. Would of made the case more interesting if they went all the way through instead of the boring blunt force trauma. Come one Capcom. Make a cute animal defendant. (with owner also being defended) Witnesses can be a crazy cat lady and a veterinarian. I love animals, yeah yeah. |

Know of any PW fanfic archives that's better than the one at FanFiction.net? (There's only a few hundred fics there, while Golden Sun has over 2000 there.) |
