Regarding today's update: A holly jolly [radio edit] you too, Sakurai. Music for Christmas is cool and all, but I'd rather it be paired with something awesome (like announcing Isaac). |

Eh? I didn't think anything wrong at all with it... Remember, just because it's a holiday doesn't give the site an obligation to announce something else major. |

Angel Island Zone is the name of the first level in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, so I don't see anything wrong with that either. Hmm, is Christmas observed in Japan? If not, maybe that would explain what people are complaining about. :/ |

Yeah, I liked the Trophy Stands update a whole lot, since it essentially shows you how a lot of us will be playing the mode (waiting for a Trophy Stand to pop up to trophy-ize a weakened enemy like catching a Pokemon with a Poke Ball, with an actual Pokemon being Rayquaza as one of the trophy-izable bosses). |

Coin Launcher: Now THIS update I REALLY love! =D They keep on bringing back Melee modes and revamping them as far better and more sensible game modes that feel almost like little games within themselves. |

True, that was halarious, poor Yoshi was a goner! But tiny Bowser chased by giant Pikachu? Class. And I saw that the IC's final smash was used as the lava wave struck the Metroid 1st stage...you could combine them with devastating results. Like if you use Peach's FS? Everyone's a sitting duck! But Giga Bowser wouldn't be able to get into the safety thing...XD |

Earlier today I wrote the Pikmin universe article for SmashWiki, so that anyone who doesn't think much of the franchise can know the important stuff about it. (Doing the research for that article made me realize I should've played the second game; I only played the first.) As always, I'm hugely anticipative of Golden Sun in Brawl. Unlike all the other Universe articles I've written for over there I actually wrote the article in advance for the Golden Sun (universe) page that will appear once the series symbol for that appears on DOJO. I'll post the codeless version here; keep in mind Wiki markup and syntax is different than what's on the Temple of Kraden, so there's a lot of tags that don't do anything yet: Golden Sun (universe) (this is my in-case-it-happens draft) The Golden Sun universe refers to the Smash Bros. series' collection of characters, stages, and properties that hail from the fantasy role-playing game series Golden Sun, developed by Camelot Software Planning as a second-party developer for Nintendo. The reveal of content from the series for Brawl, namely the playable appearance of one of the main playable characters of the two existing games, Isaac, is the first appearance of anything Golden Sun-related in any medium since the release of Golden Sun: The Lost Age nearly five years prior to Brawl's release. ==Franchise description== Camelot Software Planning began as a subdivision of SEGA under the name "Sonic Software Planning", likely named after the popular SEGA-owned character Sonic the Hedgehog, and for many years it developed role-playing games for SEGA-owned systems like the Genesis and Saturn, even after it officially separated from SEGA in 1995 under its current name. Most of these games feature titles begining with "Shining", such as the highly celebrated Shining Force trilogy. When SEGA shifted focus from its ailing Saturn system to its then-upcoming Dreamcast console, Camelot changed its partnership to one with Nintendo, where it created the first games in the now-ubiquitous Mario sports subseries: Mario Golf and Mario Tennis. For Mario Tennis' first release in 2000 for Nintendo 64, Camelot created the character Waluigi, who would appear as a regular character in many Mario sports and side games since. In 2001, shortly before the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee, Camelot developed the first game in the Golden Sun RPG series for Game Boy Advance, simply titled Golden Sun for its international release but subtitled "The Broken Seal" for its Japanese release (Ô gon no Taiyô : Hirakareshi Fû in), and released it months after the system's launch. It was received as the premier RPG for GBA and won very high marks from fans and critics alike for its effective blend of high-quality visuals and audio, character and world design, and refined traditional RPG gameplay borrowing elements from the puzzle-filled-dungeon design of Zelda games and the creature-collection system of Pokémon. It was designed as an RPG spanning two game carts, with the second, Golden Sun: The Lost Age, released in 2003, as a continuation to the first that wraps up many of its loose ends. The second game was met with much of the same optimism and solidified a noticeably healthy fanbase. Golden Sun is a series of RPGs that as of 2008 consists of two subsequent Game Boy Advance installments that can interlink with each other to transfer data between game carts. The games are modeled off the "traditional" setup of old-school RPG design featuring sword-and-sorcery battles and overworld exploration. They take place in a Flat Earth-like world named Weyard that is physically and conceptually based on the four Classical elements: Earth ("Venus"), Fire ("Mars"), Wind ("Jupiter"), and Water ("Mercury"). Also a heavy concept is the possession and manipulation of a Chi-like energy, referred to as Psynergy (a portmanteau of "Psychic Energy"), to achieve sorcerous effects with the four elements. This magical art is mostly unknown to the inhabitants of Weyard, but some humans and a variety of creatures are gifted with the ability to use Psynergy. These are referred to as Adepts of their respective elements, so someone who can conjure powers of fire is known as a Mars Adept, for example. The playable characters in both games are Adepts. The story of the two games revolves around the efforts of opposing parties of Adepts to either unleash or prevent the release of a supreme force known as Alchemy to the world of Weyard; though great power can be attained by this force's presence, its abuse in the world's ancient past previously wracked Weyard with war. Golden Sun has a travelling group of four young Adepts, one for each element and led by the Venus Adept Isaac, divinely tasked to prevent the game's antagonistic group of Adepts from breaking Alchemy's seal, which the antagonists hope to achieve by activating four giant towers across Weyard known as the Elemental Lighthouses. Members of the enemy party become the playable characters of Golden Sun: The Lost Age and are led by the Venus Adept Felix, which provides a dramatically different perspective on the plot. As The Lost Age nears its finale, shocking revelations about the nature of Alchemy and its relation to Weyard are seemingly overshadowed by later revelations even more shocking in nature, concerning the true motives of some of the main characters in particular. Golden Sun underwent a five-year-long hiatus, during which rumors abounded of a possible "Golden Sun 3" in the works (and several hoaxes were placed in the spotlight by fans to play on these rumors). In October 2007 Camelot made it clear that they've always wanted to make a third game and that Nintendo in fact had asked them to do so in the past; nevertheless, the appearance of Golden Sun characters and properties in Super Smash Bros. Brawl marked the first time the franchise had officially appeared in any form of media since the release of The Lost Age. ==In Super Smash Bros. Brawl== |

That is one hell of a read, man. I'm very impressed...I could not have summed up the series any better. Oh, let's just hope that something, anything from Golden Sun appears in Brawl. Music, Assist Trophy, Plabable character...I don't care. So long as the series gets some representation. |

Yeah! The idea is that when Golden Sun is revealed to be in Brawl, all the Smash fans of the world will want to know about it, and with this page all the Smash fans that frequent SmashWiki will get it from day one. Of course, I can only put this up if DOJO considers Golden Sun major enough to warrant its own series symbol. :/ But anyway... I believe when Pikmin & Olimar was confirmed as a character, this was the first confirmed Pikmin content in any game in three years, since Pikmin 2 in 2004. You can imagine how all the Pikmin fans treated this as the Third Coming (of Olimar of course) and were absolutely ecstatic over it. I think Golden Sun is in the same status, with the last Golden Sun content in a game appearing over four years ago in GS:TLA, and that we all WILL feel supremely fulfilled when GS is confirmed for Brawl. |

Many people assume that the mysterious World Icon 19 is for Golden Sun. Even people who don't want Isaac even say so. Even if it's not, there can always be more Icon's after 22. The real reason I want Isaac in is because I believe it would prompt Camelot to finally make a third installment into the series. Now, I'm not saying Isaac wouldn't be awesome in Brawl, and the only reason I want him is to pressure Camelot into making a new game...I whole-heartedly believe he would be an awesome character. It's just that, before all else, I simply want another Golden Sun game, whether he is in Brawl or not. It's just that, if he was in Brawl, the odds of that happening are much greater. He would be a great character...he has the potential for an awesome move set, the stages he could have would be awesome. (The top of a lighthouse, anyone?), the series would get more fans worldwide, the fact that this would be the first new Golden Sun content in almost five years...the list goes on. Look at how the previous SSB games affected the Fire Emblem series, or the EarthBound series. I want that to be the case with Golden Sun. I just hope the creators of Brawl can see the demand for him, and finally answer our requests. Like I said, if an odd-ball character like Olimar can get it, or thrid party characters like Sonic and Snake, why not Isaac? |
