1) Admitting weakness* 2) Not hiding behind stereotypes* 3) Avoiding substance abuse* 4) Respect teh womenz0rz* 5) Suffering* 6) Religion* 7) All things in moderation* 8) Calvin and Hobbes 9) Chivalrous behavior 10) Standing up for what you beleive in 11) Testicular and/or Prostate cancer* 12) Backing down from a fight* 13)Admitting you're wrong when you're wrong, despite the price of your pride* *= I'd rather die a painful death, as I'm sure all real men will agree. Actually there might be disagreement over the "religion, substance abuse, and respecting women" ones, those are just personal things. |

Ah, chivalry. A code of honour, civility, and integrity of the middle ages... My understanding is that it lives on, in the general code of conduct expected of a gentleman. |

Admitting weakness is manly because it shows you're manly enough to cope with your own shortcomings and not make stupid things to hide it, like yelling people, or being violent. That's why bullies are so unmanly. They cope with their weakness by being ghei to other people. Backing down from a fight is the most manly thing of all to do. It doesn't take much of a man to beat and kick people around, just because they can. A real man will stay out of a fight because he knows that no real good will come of it, and the dispute can be settled just as easily without violence. Also, real men will realize that it is impossible to use might for right. It always goes astray, history has shown us... |

Nope. I was fine with that poll. I think some of the ladies were insulted, however. |

I think we were more amused than anything once we found out what it was about. At least, I didn't hear any outrage when we discussed it. We were irked at not being told, though. =P
